Stop growing!!

Love this little girl!!!

Lydia is:
... Almost 4 months next Wednesday (Holy Cow!)
She got her ears pierced last night
She is starting to laugh when things are funny (ie blowing in her face, gasping randomly, or just talking weirdly)
She is starting to get ticklish
She puts anything in hand distance into her mouth
Drools..a lot
Can carry on a long conversation
Craves attention
Still.. has so much hair
The funnest personality - loooves being talked to and played with - so easy to entertain

And to me, she still has the prettiest smile around.

Huggies, please!

 Pampers or Huggies??

As a mom of a three month old, I can attest to the fact that Huggies beats Pampers any ol' day!!

My dad bought a big box of Huggies at Sam's club with over 200 diapers in it which have lasted us at least 2 months. They have a better elastic around the legs - what they like to call the "leak lock," and a soft elastic band around the back.

But finally we ran out. And we resorted to a Pampers bag of diapers that I found in my pile of diapers I got from my baby shower.

And then Lydia had one of her lovely blow outs...

Aaaaaaaaaand she was sitting in my lap!... Needless to say I just threw the onesie away. Because by the time DADDY agreed to change her and got to her, the poopies had run up her back! We're still working on convincing Daddy that it's okay if he changes poopy diapers.

We promptly evacuated to the bathtub.

Point being.. I never had this problem with Huggies. Never

Catching up!

So I'll make this short and sweet.

Living in the parents' living room wasn't the greatest idea and my friend had an extra bedroom. So we moved into her apartment last Friday in Fairbanks. Big changes for us all. She just had a baby a month after me, so 2 little mexican babies and 2 stay at home moms! :)

Anyway, it's been sooo nice with the privacy. Baby can sleep whenever she wants, and so can we.

and.. amazingly enough, we get fed every night! With all my siblings mostly grown, my parents get kinda lazy with the cooking.. so we kinda fended for ourselves. But not here. With 2 working manly mens we make sure dinner's on the table... which is a great thing. Cause for 2 nursing moms, we gotta eat.

We're also in the 5th ward at Church, and it's been good to see a few friends from the branch who decide to go there instead. I'm glad I know people. Last Sunday was definitely interesting. Jonathan works Sundays at 10, and Church is at 9. I got up an hour before church (silly me thinking I could make it on that much time) and then ended up rushing to get there. As we were leaving, I forgot there was a step and biffed it on the cement. Lovely haha. So my knee was bleeding, but I didn't care. Cause we were late for Church. And I hate being late. And then, we forgot my friend's carseat was in her car, so we switched Lydia into that one instead but I couldn't figure out how to buckle that darn car seat up. Took me like 5 minutes.. Needless to say, we were late. And then Jonathan left 45 minutes into church and I had to carry Lydia and church stuff around myself.

I gotta say, I took it for granted having my family there helping me each Sunday. It was awfully missed.

Anyway, it's been great here. Lydia is way more vocal that she has ever been. She's a howler lol. I love that little girl! We're still trying to figure out plans to leave in December. And I didn't get the PFD cause when I filed it in January I didn't know we'd be coming back so I said I dind't intend to return. But we're working on trying to see if I can still magically get it. *fingers crossed* That would most definitely help us to leave. But who knows.

Anyways, that's about it! We have kind of limited internet here so I won't be on as much as I was when I was at my parents, but that's probably a good thing. Ttyl! Stay warm in this chilly weather!

Words cannot express this feeling in my heart

So, since having Lydia I have come to learn some things. Every soul is precious to God. And.. I love little children. I can tell why Jesus would admire children and proclaim that unless we "become like little children we cannot enter into the kingdom of Heaven." Children are simply put, amazing. They have sparkling personalities and a love for learning. They want to do good and be good. Given the chance they will please you and most often will follow your {good} example.

I love my little Lydia. No matter how many times I say that, I can not say it in a way that will express how my heart so honestly feels about her. It's a love only a mother can feel. I feel like a broken record, telling her I love her over and over again to her face. I feel like one of the luckiest people on the planet. I get to be the mother of a precious, perfect soul.

When she wakes in the morning, she greets me with smiles. Any time I do something with her I talk to her. I try to make a game out of everything for her, so she is constantly smiling. She is such a happy person! She can brighten anyone's day. She is so full of life!

I love my baby.

I love Lydia's long dark hair, the way her nose scrunches up when she laughs, her dimples, her silent laugh when I tickle her, getting to kiss and play with her cute, tiny, long toes, and her double chin. I love that she prefers me over anyone else. I love bath time, and feeding time, changing time, and even when she spits up all over my newly changed clothes it's okay with me, because it reassures me that she's getting more than enough to eat.

Tonight, I felt especially grateful to have my baby in my arms as she was asleep on my shoulder...

because before she woke up, I read this article,* and cried.

Ugh.. this stuff makes me so angry at those people, yet so full of compassion for mothers who can't have children, even if they want them! It's one thing to choose for yourself if you want something done to you, but when things are forced upon you and your one dream is taken away, it is just awful.
I will never understand how people can be so cruel. But I know one thing.

God loves us all. Jesus Christ suffered for our pain. His Atonement covers every hurt and sorrow we will ever experience, because He has experienced it all. I am so glad to know that I have a Heavenly Father watching over me, comforting me in my times of need, and loving me enough to let me be a guardian over a perfect daughter. She completes my life! I am so lucky.

I love love love her!!

I've got myself a finger sucker!

Old habits..

Die hard...

{she hasn't quite grasped how to suck her thumb}

3 months old!

When it comes to blogging, I usually have to do it after midnight when the family and the baby are all asleep..

So, in case you were wondering.......... Lydia is 3 months old! Holy cow!? Where did the time go? Goodness, they grow up so fast. She reached 3 months on Sunday.

Update on baby Lydia:

At 2 1/2 months she was 11lbs 0z. Not sure what she weighs now, but we will find out on the 12th when she gets weighed at WIC. As of now her neck muscles are strong enough she can lift her head up as she's laying on her stomach, as well as any time you hold her. In the crib, when I check on her I always find her head towards the end of the crib about to ram into the wooden bars haha I always have to slide her back. She's such a wiggler and in her sleep will kick off her blankies and also end up sideways so that she's perpendicular to the crib walls. lol It's kind of a funny sight to see.
She is getting more ticklish. And she likes to be bounced by her legs. While laying on her back I grab her feet and jiggle her up and down and she loves that.
She is also getting sooo drool-y. Holy smokes. I hope that means teeth soon! Haha It will definitely be interesting to watch her eat some semi-solid baby food. They said I could start that at 4 months.
She likes sucking on her thumbs.. but she can't quite grasp the actual thumb sucking action. She kind of bites down on them, or just shoves the whole thing in her mouth. The only time I've actually seen her suck on her thumb the *right* way, was when I held her fingers in a fist and shoved the thumb in her mouth (it was cute, and I wanted to see what it looked like lol). But she still doesn't know how to do it. That's fine with me.
She is also awake more now. Spends almost a good 5-7 hours awake during the day with only 30 minute naps in between that chunk. Sometimes it's overwhelming, because I constantly have to watch her and I can't even take a break to shower, but it's okay. AT LEAST she is sleeping 6-9 hours at night now! WHICH IS FREAKING AWESOME! So.. I won't complain.

I love that little girl!!!

a few hours old...or minutes actually.. maybe like 30 minutes.
